What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I have been overweight my entire life. I recently turned 60 and promised myself that the rest of my life would be the best of my life. I do not want to leave this earth without knowing what it’s like to be fit and healthy. Also, I wanted to achieve this goal to be an example and help others see that it can be done, no matter your age or how long you’ve been in the battle. I still have a ways to go. I can’t stop, won’t stop!
How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by following the nutrition plan that Terry Starks designed for me. I stopped eating sugary foods, bread, high-fat foods… all the bad stuff! Now, I eat plenty of protein, fresh fruits, veggies, whole wheat foods, and oats. I let Terry know my dislikes and food allergies. He designs a plan that works just for your body.
What is your workout routine?
Per the instructions from my nutritionist Terry Starks, I do 1 hour of cardio. I walk at a moderate speed on the treadmill and row for 30 minutes a session.
How often did you work out?
I work out 6 to 7 days per week. I know it may seem like a lot, but it works and I feel amazing!
What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
I’ve lost 25 pounds and four dress/pant sizes. On Terry’s program, the scale is not our main focus. While the number is important, but we focus on what we see in the mirror and how our clothes fit. When your clothing becomes “baggy” in a matter of a few weeks, that’s a great feeling!
What is your height?
5’2″
When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take
My journey started in February 2024. I became ill and was diagnosed with pancreatitis for the following few weeks. I was afraid to eat much, so naturally, I lost a few pounds. However, starvation was not sustainable, nor was it wise.
After following Terry on Facebook for over fifteen years, I decided to see if his program worked for me. During the first seven weeks, I stuck to the program faithfully. When Terry asked for my before and after pictures, I was hesitant because I didn’t think I lost much weight. To my surprise, I was blown away! Looking at my before and after pics side by side, I couldn’t deny that Terry’s program was exactly what I needed. The fat and inches literally melted away, and I’m not doneyet!
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My biggest lesson is that the best way to lose at and weight is through a healthy nutrition plan, not deprivation.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Make sure that your “Why” is bigger than any doubt or temptation that will most certainly come to attempt to derail you. Never give up on yourself. The feeling of finally knowing that “this time, I’m on track to reaching my goal” is priceless.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I did not have surgery, take pills, or do injections. I simply followed the plan that Terry Starks designed for me. His plans are not cookie-cutter. I eat five small meals per day, drink plenty of water, do 1 hour of cardio, and get my rest in. I have no side effects, no hunger and no regrets.
