Making a Difference One Review at a Time


The G2 Gives review campaign is an initiative that allows users to support charitable causes by leaving product reviews. Through G2 Gives, reviews not only benefit software buyers everywhere by providing valuable feedback on products, but they also contribute to a meaningful cause.

With Giving Tuesday coming up in the U.S., we wanted to take a moment to reflect on this initiative, which is very important to us.

How G2 Gives connects vendors with charitable organizations

Getting reviews on G2 can be challenging, so incentivizing feedback is essential. While gift cards appeal to some, others may prefer an option that aligns with their values.

With G2 Gives, reviewers can choose a $10 donation to a partner charity for qualifying reviews, allowing them to contribute to causes they care about. This program boosts engagement and also strengthens community impact, giving reviewers a meaningful choice. Here’s a look at what we’ve achieved so far.

In some cases, reviewers may opt to donate to their charity or non-profit of choice. However, we try to encourage donations to a smaller pool of organizations. More funding in their hands can go a lot further than small donations to a wide variety of organizations.

Beginning in May 2021, G2 Gives began our partnership with 11 different organizations across North America, Europe, and Asia. Each of these pillar partners was carefully selected based on their reputation, the communities they represent, and the themes G2 proudly supports. Not only does G2 raise money through reviews, but employees also volunteer their time to support these meaningful organizations. A group of G2 employees based in Bangalore, India, visited the Navachethana Trust, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children with divergent abilities.

Another organization G2 supports is the American Cancer Society. Emily Lipinsky, the Vice President of Illinois Development, speaks to the importance of employee-driven philanthropy. She discusses how it enables the American Cancer Society to fund groundbreaking research, provide crucial patient services, and raise awareness about prevention.

This is tremendous progress, but this data only tells part of the story.

Future goals

While our 2024 H1 donations increased more than twice that of 2023’s H1, our aim is to increase our impact by at least 10% year over year. 

One exciting way G2 collects donations is by hosting review booths at industry events. So far in 2024, these review booths alone have raised $55,110. By comparison, in 2023, they raised $35,290. We’re excited to see how review booths continue to support the G2 Gives initiative in the future.

Changing the world one step at a time

We look forward to seeing what we can accomplish with G2 Gives this year. With your help, we want to end 2024 as our most successful year yet and contribute towards meaningful change. We’re confident that G2 Gives will come to represent something truly special in the years to come.
