Melissa ‘Mel’ Timbs, a vibrant 36-year-old, joined The Healthy Mummy community over two years ago. Her journey is more than just about weight loss; it’s a story of overcoming mental health challenges and working towards her dream of motherhood.

While Mel’s weight loss is impressive – dropping from a size 20 to a size 16 – her achievements go beyond the scale. She’s noticed increased confidence and a willingness to try new things. 

For instance, she’s now attempting jumping jacks and high knees in workouts instead of immediately opting for modifications.

Her fitness has also improved significantly. She can now hold a plank for 1 minute and 5 seconds! A MASSIVE improvement from last year when she mentions she couldn’t even manage 30 seconds – what a feat to accomplish!

Words of Wisdom for New Mums

Mel’s advice for those starting their Healthy Mummy journey is to avoid overwhelming themselves. She suggests starting with a few goals at a time, such as drinking more water. She emphasises the importance of reaching out to the community for support and notes that even changing one healthy habit daily is a great start.
